Gill Cogan Chairman of the Board
General Partner, Opus Capital

Gill Cogan is a founding partner of Opus Capital, bringing more than 20 years of venture capital investing experience as well as experience building and leading venture capital firms. Gill is also a founding General Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners and continues to serve as Managing Partner of the Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners Funds. Prior to joining Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners in 1990, Gill managed the West Coast venture capital operations of Adler & Company. In 1985, he was one of three general partners who formed the first independent Israeli venture fund.

Gill's operating experience includes his tenure as CEO of Formtek, Inc. — a systems company based on technology developed at Carnegie Mellon University — which was subsequently acquired by Lockheed Corporation.

Gill holds an MBA from UCLA.

President Emeritus, Applied Materials Inc.

Dr. Maydan has been President Emeritus of Applied Materials, Inc., a semiconductor manufacturing equipment company, since April 2003 and a member of that company's Board of Directors since June 1992. Prior to that, he had been President of Applied Materials since January 1994. From March 1990 to January 1994, Dr. Maydan served as Applied Materials' Executive Vice President, with responsibility for all product lines and new product development. Before joining Applied Materials in September 1980, Dr. Maydan spent thirteen years managing new technology development at Bell Laboratories during which time he pioneered laser recording of data on thin-metal films and made significant advances in photolithography and vapor deposition technology for semiconductor manufacturing. In 1998, Dr. Maydan was elected to the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Maydan received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. in Physics from Edinburgh University in Scotland.

Dr.Maydan serves on the company's compensation committee and nominating and governance committee.

Richard Kashnow Former GE Executive, Former Raychem CEO & Former President, Tyco Ventures

Richard A. Kashnow served as chairman, chief executive officer, and president of Raychem, a publicly-traded, $1.8 billion technology company specializing in electronic components and engineered materials. After Raychem was acquired by Tyco International in 1999, Dr. Kashnow established and became president of Tyco Ventures, the company’s venture capital arm. Before Raychem, Dr. Kashnow held executive positions with Manville Corporation, where he became president of its $1 billion building products and engineered materials subsidiary, Schuller Corporation.

Dr. Kashnow has served on the boards of several public companies, including for nine years on the board of Ariba, Inc., where he was on the audit committee and compensation committee, until it was acquired by SAP, and Komag Inc., where he was chairman and on the compensation committee and the nominating and governance committee until it was acquired by Western Digital Corp. 

Dr. Kashnow began his business career as a physicist at General Electric's corporate R&D center. During his seventeen years at GE, he held technical and general management positions, including corporate technology consultant, manager of GE Aerospace's electronics laboratory, and general manager of GE Lighting's quartz and chemical products business. Dr. Kashnow earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1963) and a Ph.D. in solid-state physics from Tufts University. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Army (1968-1970).

Dr. Kashnow joined the EFI board in April 2008, and he currently serves on the board’s audit committee and its nominating and governance committee.

Tom Georgens

From April 2014 to May 2015, Tom Georgens served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of NetApp, Inc.

Previously, from August 2009 until April 2014, Mr. Georgens served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of NetApp. Prior to becoming its Chief Executive Officer, from February 2008 to August 2009, Mr. Georgens was President and Chief Operating Officer of NetApp, responsible for all product operations and field operations worldwide.

Georgens joined NetApp in October 2005 and served as the company's executive vice president of Product Operations from January 2007 until February 2008. Previously he served as NetApp's executive vice president and general manager of Enterprise Storage Systems.

Before joining NetApp, Georgens spent nine years at Engenio, a subsidiary of LSI Logic, the last two years as CEO. He also served in various other positions, including president of LSI Logic Storage Systems and executive vice president of LSI Logic. At Engenio, he built the business into a successful OEM storage provider for companies such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, StorageTek, Silicon Graphics, and NCR.

Prior to Engenio, Georgens spent 11 years at EMC in a variety of engineering and marketing positions. Georgens holds a bachelor of science degree and a master of engineering degree in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as well as a master of business administration degree from Babson College.

Georgens serves on the company's audit committee.

Mr. Brown served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Tanium Inc., a Berkeley-based systems and security management enterprise software company, from April 2014 to March 2017. Previously, Mr. Brown served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Vice President of Polycom, Inc. from February 2012 to March 2014.

Prior to that Mr. Brown served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Electronic Arts, Inc., an interactive entertainment software company, from April 2008 to February 2012. From January 2005 until March 2008, Mr. Brown worked at McAfee, Inc., a security technology company, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer from March 2006 until March 2008 and as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from January 2005 until March 2006.

Mr. Brown was the President and Chief Financial Officer of Micro Strategy Incorporated, a business intelligence software provider, from 2000 until 2004. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Brown worked at Electronic Arts as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Electronic Arts Redwood Shores (California) studio division. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Brown was co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of Datasage, Inc., a Boston-based enterprise technology company.

Mr. Brown received a B.S. in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a M.B.A from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
